Description

The Bellano is the small backpack, the one you reach for when you are not carrying much but still want your hands free. Full grain leather, clean lines, no visible branding anywhere on it.

It converts. Worn on both shoulders it is a backpack, worn on one it is a crossbody, carried by the top handle it reads as a bag rather than a pack. There is a hidden zip pocket on the outside and two separately zipped sections inside, so the things you need quickly stay separate from the things you do not.

The scale is deliberate. It holds a tablet, a wallet, a water bottle and a day's essentials without ever looking bulky, which is why it tends to become the default rather than the occasional choice.

  • Full grain leather
  • Converts between backpack, crossbody and top handle carry
  • Hidden exterior zip pocket
  • Two separately zipped interior sections
  • Heavy duty zips throughout

Shipping and Returns

US shipping is free on every order, with no minimum to reach. Your order is made up and dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, and usually arrives 5 to 7 days after that. You will receive a tracking link by email as soon as it ships. We ship within the United States only at the moment.

You have 30 days from delivery to return an item. It needs to be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by you. Contact us first so we can send you the return address, as returns sent without a request cannot be accepted. Three bags, one purchase

Three bags, one purchase

Both shoulders and it is a backpack. One shoulder and it is a crossbody. Carried by the top handle it stops reading as a pack at all. The hardware for all three is built in, so switching takes a second and does not leave straps dangling.
Small on purpose, not by accident

Small on purpose, not by accident

It holds a tablet, a wallet, a bottle and a day's essentials, and nothing about it looks bulky doing it. That restraint is why it tends to become the bag you reach for by default rather than the one you take when the big one is too much.
The zip pocket you will actually use

The zip pocket you will actually use

There is a hidden zip pocket on the outside for the things you need without stopping, and two separately zipped sections inside so keys never end up against a phone screen. Small decisions, but they are why a bag stays in service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a laptop fit?

A 13 inch laptop or a tablet fits. Anything larger and you want the Castagno or the Marano instead.

Is it comfortable on both shoulders?

Yes, though it is sized as a daypack rather than a hiking pack. For heavy loads over long distances, look at the larger backpacks.

How do I switch between the carries?

The strap hardware is built in. Unclip one side for crossbody, clip both for backpack, and the top handle is always there.

Does it suit any build?

The straps adjust through a wide range, so it sits correctly on most people without looking oversized or strained.

Will the leather soften?

Noticeably, within a couple of months. The body relaxes and the straps take the line of your shoulder.

What leather do you use?

Full grain leather, the top layer of the hide, left unsanded so the natural grain stays intact. Several pieces use Crazy Horse leather, a waxed full grain finish that scratches into a patina rather than out of one.

Will the leather change over time?

Yes, and that is the point. Full grain darkens, softens and develops a patina shaped by how you carry it. No two pieces age the same way.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry, wipe it with a soft cloth, and condition it two or three times a year. Store it out of direct sunlight. Avoid soaking it, and if it does get wet let it dry at room temperature rather than near heat.

How do I choose the right size?

Each listing says what the piece is built to carry, including laptop sizes where they apply. Compare that against the bag you use now, since it is a more reliable guide than a size label. If you are between two options, message us with what you carry and we will tell you which one fits.

Is the leather treated or sealed?

Only lightly. Heavy sealing is what stops leather from ageing, so the surface is left open enough to absorb oils from your hands and darken over time. That does mean it is not waterproof. Keep it out of standing water, and if it does get wet let it dry at room temperature.

Will the colour match the photographs?

Closely, but not exactly. Full grain leather takes dye differently across the hide, so tone and grain shift slightly from piece to piece, and screens render colour differently again. Treat the photographs as an honest guide rather than a swatch. That variation is a property of real leather, not a fault.
