Description

The Marconi is a duffle that works in both directions. Smart enough to leave at the office, tough enough for a weekend somewhere with no pavement.

The crazy horse leather outside is wear resistant and difficult to damage in any way that matters. The interior is lined in soft cotton, so what you pack does not come out marked. That combination of hard shell and soft lining is the whole idea.

Leather shades vary from hide to hide, so the one that arrives will not be identical to the photograph. It will be close, and it will be yours.

  • Crazy horse leather, wear and scratch resistant
  • Soft cotton lined interior
  • Large main compartment
  • Leather handles and shoulder strap
  • Natural shade variation between hides

Shipping and Returns

US shipping is free on every order, with no minimum to reach. Your order is made up and dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, and usually arrives 5 to 7 days after that. You will receive a tracking link by email as soon as it ships. We ship within the United States only at the moment.

You have 30 days from delivery to return an item. It needs to be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by you. Contact us first so we can send you the return address, as returns sent without a request cannot be accepted. Once the return arrives and has been inspected we will email you to confirm, and an approved refund goes back to your original payment method. Sale items cannot be refunded. Full details are on our Shipping and Returns page.

The handles are the honest part

The handles are the honest part

Handles are where a duffle gets tested and where cheap ones give up. These are wrapped and stitched rather than riveted, which is slower to make and a great deal harder to break. You can feel the difference the first time you pick up a full bag.
Small things stay findable

Small things stay findable

End pockets take a charger, a book, a passport, the things that otherwise migrate to the bottom under the shoes. It is a small piece of design that changes how the bag feels to live out of.
A hide, not a batch

A hide, not a batch

Each bag is cut from real hide, so grain and tone vary panel to panel and bag to bag. Yours will not be quite the same as the photograph, and it will be less the same again in a year.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it hold?

A comfortable weekend, or three days packed tight.

Is the strap included?

Yes, an adjustable shoulder strap that clips off when you only want the handles.

Will the handles stretch?

They will soften and take the shape of your grip. Stitched rather than riveted means they do not pull loose.

Is the leather treated?

Lightly, so it can still absorb oils from handling and darken over time.

How does it compare to the Livorno?

Very close in size. The Livorno is the plainer build, the Marconi carries the end pockets and heavier handles.

What leather do you use?

Full grain leather, the top layer of the hide, left unsanded so the natural grain stays intact. Several pieces use Crazy Horse leather, a waxed full grain finish that scratches into a patina rather than out of one.

Will the leather change over time?

Yes, and that is the point. Full grain darkens, softens and develops a patina shaped by how you carry it. No two pieces age the same way.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry, wipe it with a soft cloth, and condition it two or three times a year. Store it out of direct sunlight. Avoid soaking it, and if it does get wet let it dry at room temperature rather than near heat.

How do I choose the right size?

Each listing says what the piece is built to carry, including laptop sizes where they apply. Compare that against the bag you use now, since it is a more reliable guide than a size label. If you are between two options, message us with what you carry and we will tell you which one fits.

Is the leather treated or sealed?

Only lightly. Heavy sealing is what stops leather from ageing, so the surface is left open enough to absorb oils from your hands and darken over time. That does mean it is not waterproof. Keep it out of standing water, and if it does get wet let it dry at room temperature.

Will the colour match the photographs?

Closely, but not exactly. Full grain leather takes dye differently across the hide, so tone and grain shift slightly from piece to piece, and screens render colour differently again. Treat the photographs as an honest guide rather than a swatch. That variation is a property of real leather, not a fault.
